ADVOCACY AAEI FULLY ENGAGES THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ON BEHALF OF THE ENTIRE TRADE COMMUNITY, MADE UP OF U.S. IMPORTERS AND EXPORTERS AND THE COMPANIES THAT SERVE THE TRADE. THE ASSOCIATION MONITORS THE ACTIVITIES OF CONGRESS, THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH, AND FEDERAL COURT DECISIONS PROPOSES LEGISLATION AND REGULATORY ACTIONS TO REDUCE ADMINISTRATIVE BURDENS AND IMPROVE TRANSPARANCY, EFFICIENCY AND PREDICTABILITY IN GOVERNMENT AGENCIES THAT REGULATE CROSS-BORDER TRADE AND BRIEFS OR TESTIFIES BEFORE POLICYMAKERS, CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES, REGULATORY AGENCIES AND COURTS ON SUCH ISSUES AS SUPPLY CHAIN SECURITY, PRODUCT SAFETY AND ELIMINATION OF FOREIGN BARRIERS TO U.S. EXPORTS.
