PERFORMANCES - IN THE 2021-2022 SEASON, THE INTERNATIONAL CONTEMPORARY ENSEMBLE WORKED TOWARDS ITS MISSION TO ADVANCE EXPERIMENTAL MUSICAND AMPLIFY LIVING COMPOSERS THROUGH OVER 80 SELF-PRODUCED ANDPARTNER-PRODUCED CONCERTS. IN NYC, LIVE CONCERT ATTENDANCE WAS AROUND1,200; ONLINE, WE REACHED OVER 6500 PEOPLE.CALL FOR ____ COMMISSIONING PROGRAM - DEVELOPING NEW WORKS COLLABORATIVELY IS ONE OF ICEENSEMBLE'S KEY ACTIVITIES. WE HAVE COMMISSIONED OR PREMIERED 1,000+ WORKS SINCE OUR FOUNDING OVER TWENTY YEARS AGO, AND OUR IN-HOUSE PROGRAMS HAVE SUPPORTED THEIR DEVELOPMENT, PRESENTATION, AND DOCUMENTATION. IN SPRING 2021, THE ENSEMBLE SELECTED A COHORT OF 8 COMPOSER-CREATORS THROUGH OUR CALL FOR ____ COMMISSIONING PROGRAM, OUR COMMITMENT TO ADVANCING EMERGING SOUND CREATORS. OVER TWO YEARS, THEY RECIEVE A PAID COMMISSION, COLLABORATIVE WORKSHOPS, PROMOTIONAL SUPPORT, PREMIERES, AND PROFESSIONAL DOCUMENTATION VIA DIGITICE, OUR HIGH-END VIDEO ARCHIVE THAT THEY CAN USE FOR THEIR PORTFOLIOS AND FOR THE PUBLIC TO USE TO DISCOVER NEW ARTISTS. OUR APPLICATION PROCESS IN 2021 WAS REDESIGNED TO BE MORE INCLUSIVE, RESULTING IN 450 APPLICATIONS FROM A MORE DIVERSE POOL OF CANDIDATES THAN EVER BEFORE.ENSEMBLE EVOLUTION - ENSEMBLE EVOLUTION IS A 2-WEEK TUITION-FREE SUMMER MUSIC SEMINAR WHERE EMERGING SOUND ARTISTS COLLABORATE WITH AND LEARN FROM A FACULTY OF ENSEMBLE MUSICIANS AND RENOWNED GUEST ARTISTS SUCH AS COMPOSER GEORGE LEWIS, SAXOPHONIST MATANA ROBERTS, AND VOCALIST-COMPOSER LISA E. HARRIS. IN JUNE 2022, ENSEMBLE EVOLUTION WAS PRESENTED AS A HYBRID ONLINE - IN PERSON PARTNERSHIP WITH THE NEW SCHOOL'S COLLEGE OF PERFORMING ARTS, SERVING 40 PARTICIPANTS.
