SAIS GRANT PROGRAMS BRING TOGETHER ALL RELEVANT ACTORS TO ADDRESS SYSTEMS-LEVEL CHANGE, WORKING TOGETHER ON POLICY, RESEARCH, CAPACITY BUILDING, MULTI-STAKEHOLDER DIALOG, AND INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS TO ADDRESS ROOT CAUSES AND CROSS-CUTTING ISSUES AT SECTORAL, CROSS-SECTORAL AND REGIONAL LEVELS. THESE PROJECTS SEEK TO INCREASE ACCESS TO REMEDY FOR LABOR VIOLATIONS, INTRODUCE MORE ETHICAL RECRUITMENT PRACTICES, ELEVATE THE VOICES OF WORKERS IN PRIVATE AND PUBLIC SECTOR CONTEXTS, STRENGTHEN THE USE OF SOCIAL PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS BY COMPANIES, AND STRENGTHEN THE CAPACITY OF CIVIL SOCIETY AND GOVERNMENTAL INSTITUTIONS. TOGETHER, THESE STRATEGIES HELP IMPROVE LABOR CONDITIONS AT MULTIPLE LEVELS OF SUPPLY CHAINS AND ACROSS LARGE SWATHS OF THE TARGET INDUSTRIES. OUR GRANT PROGRAMS ARE ALSO HUBS OF INNOVATION, ORIGINATING AND PILOTING NEW METHODS AND RESOURCES THAT CAN THEN BE ADAPTED AND SCALED THROUGH OUR OTHER AREAS OF WORK.
SAI DEVELOPS AND MAINTAINS THE SA8000 STANDARD, SOCIAL FINGERPRINT AND OTHER STANDARDS AND TOOLS FOR ORGANIZATIONS TO MEASURE AND IMPROVE THEIR WORKING CONDITIONS AND LABOR MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS.
SAI PROVIDES STRATEGIC AND IMPLEMENTATION GUIDANCE, ADVISORY SERVICES,TOOLS/RESOURCES, AND CUSTOMIZED TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO HELP VARIOUS ORGANIZATIONS TO ADVANCE WORKING CONDITIONS.
