UNITED HELP/SELFHELP HOUSING FOR THE ELDERLY HOUSING DEVELOPMENT FUND COMPANY, INC. WAS ORGANIZED AS A NOT-FOR-PROFIT CORPORATION UNDER THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, TO OPERATE A HOUSING PROJECT FOR ELDERLY OR DISABLED PERSONS OF VERY LOW INCOME, INCLUDING THE PROVISION OF HOUSING FACILITIES AND SERVICES SPECIALLY DESIGNED TO MEET THEIR PHYSICAL, SOCIAL AND PSYCHOLOGICAL NEEDS AND TO PROMOTE THEIR HEALTH, SECURITY, HAPPINESS AND USEFULNESS IN LONGER LIVING. THE ORGANIZATION WAS FINANCED THROUGH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT UNDER SECTION 202 SUPPORTIVE HOUSING FOR THE ELDERLY AND CONSISTS OF 65 UNITS ELIGIBLE FOR HUD SECTION 8 ASSISTANCE. SUCH ENTITIES ARE REGULATED BY HUD AS TO RENT CHARGES AND OPERATING METHODS.
