Part 3 - Line 4a
THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC CONTINUED TO PLAY A CENTRAL ROLE IN 2021 ACTIVITIES AND FINANCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES. AFTER RAPIDLY PIVOTING TO REMOTE SERVICES IN MARCH 2020 FOR WHAT WAS EXPECTED TO BE A SHORT-TERM PERIOD, OUR LICENSING BOARD CONTINUED TO RECOMMEND REMOTE SERVICES ALL THROUGH 2021. CLINICAL STAFF CONTINUED TO IMPROVE TELEHEALTH PRACTICES AND PROTOCOLS AS TELEHEALTH BECAME THE NORM. STAFF BEGAN TO RETURN TO THE OFFICE ON A LIMITED BASIS IN THE 4TH QUARTER IN PREPARATION FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF PROVIDING IN-PERSON SERVICES. WE FORESEE MAINTAINING A HYBRID MODEL GOING FORWARD. WE DID EXPERIENCE A DECREASE IN CENSUS IN THE 2ND HALF OF THE YEAR AS PEOPLE WERE VACCINATED AND BEGAN RETURNING TO NORMAL ACTIVITY AND TRAVEL. FOCUS IS ON BUILDING BACK THE IOP CENSUS AND DEVELOPING NEW PROGRAMMING TO INCORPORATE RECOVERY COACHING THAT HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN THE VERITUS PROGRAM. THE VERITUS PROGRAM, A TELEHEALTH-BASED TREATMENT PROGRAM FOR HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS THAT WAS LAUNCHED IN 2020 CONTINUED TO DEVELOP IN 2021. THE TARGET CLIENT POPULATION IS HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONALS, PRIMARILY PHYSICIANS, WHO HAVE BEEN REFERRED TO THEIR STATE'S PROFESSIONAL MONITORING PROGRAMS DUE TO THEIR SUBSTANCE USE AND NEED ASSESSMENT AND TREATMENT IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN THEIR LICENSES TO PRACTICE. WE'VE LAUNCHED WITH A TELEHEALTH IOP COMBINED WITH PROFESSION-SPECIFIC RECOVERY COACHING AND ARE WORKING CLOSELY WITH THE PHYSICIAN HEALTH PROGRAMS. THE PLAN IS TO EXPAND THE WORK TO INCLUDE A PROGRAM FOR LAWYERS, AND WE ARE OPTIMISTIC ABOUT THE POTENTIAL FOR BOTH.
