THE JEWISH AGENCY-AMERICAN SECTION, INC. IS A NOT-FORPROFIT CORPORATION ORGANIZED TO FOSTER THE IDEALS OF ZIONISM AND JUDAISM AND TO PROMOTE THE KNOWLEDGE AND STUDY OF THE HEBREW LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE, JEWISH CULTURE, HISTORY, PHILOSOPHY AND TRADITIONS, AND THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE ZIONIST IDEAL.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

SUPPORT FOR PROGRAMS IN THE UNITED STATES OF THE JEWISH AGENCY FOR ISRAEL (JAFI), WHICH IS AN INDEPENDENT VOLUNTARY ASSOCIATION DEALING WITH THE SETTLEMENT OF JEWS IN ISRAEL AND OTHER PHILANTHROPIC ACTIVITIES. AMONG THEIR FUNCTIONS ARE IMMIGRATION AND ABSORPTION OF IMMIGRANTS IN ISRAEL, INCLUDING: ABORPTION IN AGRICULTURAL SETTLEMENTS AND IMMIGRANT HOUSING; SOCIAL WELFARE AND HELTH SERVICES FOR IMMIGRANTS; EDUCATION, INCLUDING HIGER LEARNING AND RESEARCH; YOUTH CARE AND TRAINING; TEACHING OF HEBREW AND JEWISH CULTURE AND ZIONIST EDUCATION.
