MINISTRY GRANTS:THE WOMEN'S BIBLE SOCIETY OF NEW YORK CONTINUES ITS MINISTRY OF PROCLAIMING AND PROVIDING GOD'S TIMELESS WORD. IT DOES THIS PRIMARILY THROUGH THE FUNDING OF MINISTRY GRANTS AND CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS. IN 2019, WE AWARDED 10 ORGANIZATIONS GRANTS IN THE AMOUNT OF $379,456. OUR GRANTS COMMITTEE WORKED DILIGENTLY TO CONSIDER EACH REQUEST AND ITS ADHERENCE TO OUR MISSION AND GRANT GUIDELINES.
CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS:ONE OF THE ANNUAL MINISTRIES OF THE SOCIETY IS THE FUNDING OF CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS EACH SUMMER. THROUGH A CAMPSHIP MAILING, THE SOCIETY COLLECTS FUNDS FROM ITS DONORS, AND IN TURN, PROVIDES CAMPSHIP FUNDING TO SEVERAL OF ITS MINISTRY PARTNERS. THESE FUNDS ALLOW THOSE IN NEED TO ATTEND CHRISTIAN SUMMER CAMPS. DURING 2019, WE CONTINUED OUR SUPPORT OF CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS. WE GAVE $21,000 IN CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS, ALLOTTING $7,000 TO THE FOLLOWING THREE ORGANIZATIONS: FOCUS CAMPS, BOWERY MISSION (KIDS WITH A PROMISE), AND CAMPUS CRUSADE FOR CHRIST (CRU).
