ATLANTIC STEAMER FIRE CO. NO. 1 PROUDLY PROTECTS 12,000 PEOPLE LIVING IN AN AREA OF 8.5 SQUARE MILES. WE OPERATE OUT OF 1 STATION THAT PROTECTS A PRIMARILY RESIDENTIAL AREA. OUR FIRE COMPANY IS 100% VOLUNTEER. THE ATLANTIC STEAMER FIRE CO. NO. 1 WAS ORGANIZED IN 1890 AND INCORPORATED IN 1896. THE COMPANY RESPONDS TO ALL ALARMS IN THE HAMLET OF OYSTER BAY, AS WELL AS IN THE INCORPORATED VILLAGES OF COVE NECK, OYSTER BAY COVE, LAUREL HOLLOW AND MILL NECK. WE CURRENTLY HAVE 80 ACTIVE MEMBERS WHO FAITHFULLY SERVE THE COMMUNITY. WE PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING SERVICES: FIREFIGHTING, EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES, HAZ-MAT, VEHICLE RESCUE AND EXTRICATION, SEARCH AND RESCUE, WATER RESCUE AND PUBLIC SAFETY EDUCATION. WE ARE FIRST RESPONDERS TO FIRES, PUBLIC SAFETY AND MEDICAL EMERGENCIES, DISASTERS AND OTHER EMERGENCIES, WE, THE MEMBERS OF THE ATLANTIC STEAMER FIRE COMPANY, SHALL ENDEAVOUR TO SAVE LIVES AND PROTECT PROPERTY.
