KEELER TAVERN PRESERVATION SOCIETY SHARES THE HISTORY OF OUR REGION AND NATION THROUGH THE LIVES, WRITINGS, RECORDS, AND EVERYDAY POSSESSIONS OF THE SITES PAST RESIDENTS. ITS WELL-TRAINED CORPS OF NEARLY 50 VOLUNTEER DOCENTS GREETS ALMOST 8,000 VISITORS YEARLY FOR HANDS-ON HISTORY EXPERIENCES, EXHIBITIONS, ART SHOWS, SOCIAL EVENTS, LECTURES, PUBLIC TOURS AND FAMILY FUN. REVENUE FROM TOURS, OTHER PROGRAMS AND GIFT SHOP WAS 31,999.

DURING THIS FISCAL YEAR, WE ALSO BEGAN WORK TO REPURPOSE A NEWLY ACQUIRED BUILDING SO THAT, BEGINNING IN 2018, IT CAN SERVE AS A VISITOR CENTER, WITH SPACES FOR PUBLIC EXHIBITIONS, SCHOOL PROGRAM ACTIVITIES, ARCHIVE RESEARCH AND STORAGE, AND STAFF OFFICES. THE MUSEUM CARES FOR 10,000 SIGNIFICANT DOCUMENTS AND OBJECTS AND IS CONTINUALLY RESEARCHING THEM TO PROVIDE BACKGROUND AND CONTEXT FOR EXHIBITIONS, EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS, AND INSIGHT ON CONTEMPORARY EVENTS.
