THE 12:30 CLUB (THE "CLUB") IS ONE OF THE OLDEST ORGANIZATIONS IN BAY RIDGE. FOUNDED WELL OVER HALF A CENTURY AGO, THE CLUB'S CHARTER IS DEDICATED TO THE PROMOTION OF THE "GENERAL WELFARE OF ITS MEMBERS", AS WELL AS THE PROMOTION OF ECONOMIC WELFARE OF BAY RIDGE. THESE OBJECTIVES ARE ENCOURAGED BY MEANS OF DISCUSSIONS, INSTRUCTION, ENTERTAINMENT, AND SOCIAL GATHERINGS, ALLOWING LOCAL BUSINESSES AND PROFESSIONALS TO EXCHANGE INFORMATION AND IDEAS.ORIGINALLY MEETING IN THE CRESCENT CLUB WHERE FORT HAMILTON HIGH SCHOOL NOW STANDS, THE CLUB LATER MOVED ITS MEETINGS TO THE HOTEL GREGORY AND THEN BAY RIDGE SEAFOOD. WE ARE NOW PRESENTLY MEETING AT VARIOUS RESTAURANTS AROUND BAY RIDGE.THROUGHOUT ITS LONG HISTORY, THE CLUB'S MEMBERSHIP HAS INCLUDED THE MOST CIVIC-MINDED AND DISTINGUISHED BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONALS IN BAY RIDGE. THERE ARE SEVERAL STANDING COMMITTEES: PROGRAM SPEAKERS, GOLF, ENTERTAINMENT, GOOD & WELFARE, CIVIC IMPROVEMENT, AND PUBLICITY. NEW MEMBERS ARE ASKED ON THEIR APPLICATIONS WHICH COMMITTEE THEY WOULD LIKE TO SERVE ON. THE COMMITTEES FOR AUDIT MEMBERSHIP AND NOMINATING ARE ELECTED BY THE GENERAL MEMBERSHIP.
