OUR MISSION IS TO HELP SURVIVORS OF MEDICAL OR OTHER TRAUMATIC CHALLENGES REACH NEW ATHLETIC GOALS AND ACHIEVE THEIR ADVENTUROUS DREAMS. WE PROVIDE TRAVEL EXPENSES, COACHING, EQUIPMENT, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE ENCOURAGEMENT AND INSPIRATION NEEDED TO HELP THESE STRONG, AMAZING WOMEN AND MEN MAKE THAT LIFE-AFFIRMING TRANSITION FROM SURVIVOR TO ATHLETE.

IN 2021, THE PROJECT ATHENA FOUNDATION TOOK 7 ATHENAS ON THE HARBOR TO HARBOR TREK, 7 ATHENAS TO COMPLETE THE FLORIDA KEYS MULTI-SPORT ADVENTURE, 1 ATHENA HIKED THE GRAND CANYON, AND 4 ATHENAS HIKED THE ZION NATIONAL PARK TRAVERSE ADVENTURE WITH A TEAM OF FUNDRAISING GODS/GODDESSES ALONGSIDE THEM EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. EACH ATHENA RECEIVED 4 TO 5 MONTHS OF COACHING, SPECIFIC CLOTHING, GEAR AND EQUIPMENT FOR THEIR ADVENTURE, PLUS AIRFARE, HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS, FOOD, AND OUR TEAM OF TRAIL ANGELS TO HELP THEM SUCCEED IN CROSSING THE FINISH LINE AS A TEAM!
