THE BEECHWOOD OPEN WAS HELD IN-PERSON, WITH OVER 120+ ATTENDANCE OUTDOORS. WE GATHERED OVER 30 VISUAL ARTISTS, 15 PERFORMING ARTISTS AND MARKET VENDORS. FREDERIC CHIU'S CLASSICAL SMACKDOWN - A 3-PART SERIES OF INTERACTIVE PIANO RECITALS - WAS PRESENTED AT BEECHWOOD AND THE WESTPORT LIBRARY IN HYBRID MODE AS THE PANDEMIC CONDITIONS ALLOWED SOME IN-PERSON ATTENDANCE. JEANINE ESPOSITO RECORDED A ONE-HOUR LONG INTERVIEW WITH ARTIST AMY OESTREICHER, JUST A FEW DAYS BEFORE HER PASSING. THE INTERVIEW IS AVAILABLE ONLINE.PANDEMIC 2021AS THE PANDEMIC EXTENDED THROUGH 2021, BEECHWOOD DID NOT HAVE THE MEANS TO CONTINUE TO PROVIDE FREE PROGRAMMING. DUE TO BEECHWOOD'S PARTICULAR APPROACH TO PRESENTING AND SUPPORTING THE ARTS, NO COVID RELIEF FUNDS WERE AVAILABLE TO SUPPORT OUR CONTINUING OPERATIONS IN THE SECOND HALF OF THE YEAR.
