CONNECTICUT'S SCHOOL-BASED HEALTH CENTERS (SBHCS) HAVE BEEN DELIVERING COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH CARE TO STUDENTS IN SCHOOLS FOR 41 YEARS - WHERE THEY SPEND 25% OF THEIR DAY. TODAY THERE ARE MORE THAN 100 FULLY COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL-BASED HEALTH CENTERS IN 29 COMMUNITIES IN THE STATE AND OVER 200 EXPANDED SCHOOL HEALTH SITES PROVIDING EITHER MEDICAL OR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES, AND THAT NUMBER KEEPS GROWING EACH YEAR. THE CENTERS HAVE BECOME A PART OF THE ESSENTIAL SYSTEM OF CARE FOR CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS, PROVIDING PHYSICAL, BEHAVIORAL HEALTH, AND ORAL HEALTH SERVICES TO OVER 40,000 STUDENTS ANNUALLY IN 29 COMMUNITIES.
