FOOD PANTRY- DURING THE PERIOD JANUARY 1, 2021 THROUGH DECEMBER 31,2021 THE ORGANIZATION DISTRIBUTED APPROXIMATLY 3,553 BAGS OF GROCERIES TOTALING 44,224 POUNDS OF FOOD AND NON-FOOD ITEMS (IE, TOLIETRIES AND PAPER GOODS) TO THE NEEDY HOUSEHOLDS WITHIN THE PLAINVILLE COMMUNITY. THERE WERE A TOTAL OF 1,322 VISITS TO THE PANTRY FROM ITS CLIENTS DURING 2021.
FUEL BANK- DURING THE PERIOD JANUARY 1, 2021 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2021 THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED EMERGENCY ENERGY ASSISTANCE TO 5 PLAINVILLE HOUSEHOLDS WHO DEMOSTRATED A FINANCIAL CRISIS AND WHO EXHAUSTED ALL OTHER RESOURCES. THE SOURCE OF THESE FUNDS COMES FROM AN ANNUAL PRIVATE GRANT FROM OPERATION FUEL AS WELL AS THE LOCAL FUEL BANK FUNDED BY PRIVATE DONORS.
INTERVENTION AND REFERRAL-DURING THE PERIOD JANUARY 1, 2021 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2021, THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED 1,646 CASES OF INTERVENTION AND REFERRAL SERVICES TO PLAINVILLE INDIVIDUALS AND/OR FAMILIES TO HELP REDUCE THE DEPENDENCE ON THE FOOD PANTRY AND ASSIST THEM TO FIND ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL SELF-SUFFICIENCY.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH. DURING CALENDAR YEAR 2021 THE PANTRY ACCOMMODATED NUMEROUS VISITS FROM HUMAN SERVICE AGENCIES AND PROVIDED INDIVIDUALS IN CENTRAL CONNECTICUT WITH CLOTHING, FURNITURE AND HOUSEHOLD ITEMS. APPROXIMATELY 12,755 POUNDS OF FOOD WERE DISTRIBUTED TO OTHER LOCAL AGENCIES IN THEIR PROGRAMS
