THE MISSION OF BREAD FOR LIFE IS TO PROVIDE FOOD, FELLOWSHIP AND A SENSE OF DIGNITY TO THOSE IN NEED. WE RELY ON THE GENEROSITY OF OUR COMMUNITY TO HELP US FULFILL OUR MISSION THAT NO ONE GOES HUNGRY IN OUR TOWN. OUR VISION IS ACCOMPLISHED BY PROVIDING MEALS SERVED DAILY IN OUR KITCHEN, DELIVERED WITHIN OUR SENIOR COMMUNITY AND ALSO TO OUR HOME-BOUND CITIZENS, AND TO CHILDREN IN THE SUMMER. BREAD FOR LIFE STRIVES TO HELP OUR CLIENTS WITH THEIR PERSONAL NEEDS THROUGH REFERRALS TO APPROPRIATE AGENCIES. WE ALSO ARE A VOICE TO EDUCATE OUR COMMUNITY ON HUNGER AND POVERTY.

LUNCH PROGRAM--HOT MEALS ARE PREPARED AND SERVED AT BREAD FOR LIFE AT NOON DAILY, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. WE ARE LOCATED AT 31 VERMONT AVENUE IN SOUTHINGTON, CT. MEAL DELIVERY--BREAD FOR LIFE PROVIDES HOT LUNCH WEEKDAYS TO HOMEBOUND RESIDENTS WHO QUALIFY IN OUR COMMUNITY. WE ALSO DELIVER GROCERIES ON FRIDAY FOR WEEKEND MEALS TO THOSE WHO ARE UNABLE TO LEAVE THEIR HOMES. MOBILE FOOD PANTRY--BREAD FOR LIFE VISITS SOUTHINGTON'S MOST ECONOMICALLY CHALLENGED NEIGHBORHOODS BRINGING NON-PERISHABLE FOOD DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE WHO NEED IT THE MOST. SENIOR SERVICES--WE SERVE A GROUP LUNCH WEEKLY TO ALL RESIDENTS OF SOUTHINGTON HOUSING AUTHORITY COMMUNITIES AND SECTION 8 HOUSING. THESE GROUP LUNCHES GIVE SENIORS AN OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE A MEAL IN COMMUNITY EACH WEEK. FUEL FOR SCHOOL--WE PROVIDE BOARD OF EDUCATION APPROVED SNACKS TO STUDENTS IN SOUTHINGTON MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOLS WHO NEED A BOOST TO GET THROUGH THE DAY. CHILDREN'S SUMMER PROGRAM--BREAD FOR LIFE PROVIDE A LUNCH PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN IN LOW-INCOME NEIGHBORHOODS AND TO CHILDREN WHO RECEIVE FREE OR REDUCED HOT LUNCH DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR.
