THE BUSHNELL PARK FOUNDATION INC.'S MISSION IS TO SERVE AS AN ADVOCATE FOR THE CITY OF HARTFORD'S HISTORICAL PARK, TO HELP THE HARTFORD AREA CITIZEN'S PRESERVE, ENHANCE AND MAINTAIN THE PARKS LANDSCAPE DESIGN, HISTORICAL FEATURES AND LANDMARKS SO THAT CHILDREN AND FAMILIES, RESIDENTS AND VISITORS WILL CONTINUE TO ENJOY THE PARK AS A PLACE FOR A QUIET REFLECTION, A PLACE FOR NATURE AND BEAUTY, AND A PLACE IN WHICH THE CITY'S RICH AND DIVERSE HISTORY AND CULTURE ARE CELEBRATED AND REMEMBERED. THE PARK BOASTS OVER 1 MILLION VISITORS EACH YEAR. MORE THAN 20,000 CHILDREN AND FAMILIES CONTINUE TO VISIT THE CHILDREN'S PLAY AND LEARNING ENVIRONMENT AND WINTER SKATING RINK.
