THE WOLF SCHOOL INSPIRES COMPLEX LEARNERS TO DISCOVER CONFIDENCE, COMPASSION AND A LOVE OF LEARNING TO REACH THEIR TRUE POTENTIAL.

A PRIVATE SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN WITH LEARNING DIFFERENCES IN GRADES K THROUGH 8. THE SCHOOL FOLLOWS THE STANDARDS OF CORE GRADE-LEVEL SKILLS FOR LANGUAGES, ARTS, MATH, SOCIAL STUDIES AND SCIENCE. THE SCHOOL'S TEAM OF TEACHERS, TEACHING ASSISTANTS, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS AND SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGISTS WORK WITH EACH STUDENT TO DEVELOP INDIVIDUALIZED STRATEGIES ACCORDING TO HIS OR HER NEEDS. THE CURRICULUM ENCOMPASSES A RIGOROUS BLEND OF ACADEMIC SUBJECTS AND INTENSIVE THERAPEUTIC SUPPORT. THE TEACHER TO STUDENT RATIO IS NO MORE THAN 1:4 WHICH ALLOWS FOR SMALL INSTRUCTIONAL GROUPS. THE TEACHING MODEL ADDRESSES THREE MAJOR LEARNING CHALLENGES: LANGUAGE PROCESSING AND PRODUCTION, SENSORY REGULATION AND SOCIALLY EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION.


AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS - THE WOLF SCHOOL OFFERED SEVERAL AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS, EACH PROGRAM MET ONE DAY PER WEEK FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. THIS YEAR THE SCHOOL OFFERED A HOMEWORK CLUB FOR MIDDLE SCHOOLERS, A BREAKFAST CLUB, ZOOMOBILE, LEGOMASTER, CHESS, CLAY ART, AND 2 MOVEMENT PROGRAMS. IN ADDITION, THE SCHOOL OFFERS 3 SEASONAL AFTER-SCHOOL SPORTS WHICH MEET TWO DAYS EACH WEEK: CROSS COUNTRY, TRACK, AND BASKETBALL.


SUMMER PROGRAM - THE WOLF SCHOOL OFFERED A FIVE WEEK, FOUR DAY A WEEK SUMMER PROGRAM CALLED CAMP CONFIDENCE. THE PROGRAM COMBINES A TRADITIONAL SUMMER CAMP APPROACH WITH THE WOLF SCHOOL'S IMMERSION MODEL CLASSROOM. EACH WEEK FEATURED A DIFFERENT THEME AND SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERS, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPISTS, SPEECH PATHOLOGISTS AND TEACHER ASSISTANTS INCORPORATED ACADEMIC GOALS IN READING, MATH AND WRITING THAT RELATE BACK TO EACH THEME. IN ADDITION TO THE ACADEMIC BLOCKS, THERE WAS A MORNING MEETING, A SNACK AND MOVEMENT BREAK AND A SPECIAL ENRICHMENT ACTIVITY EACH DAY.
