THIS YEAR THE RHODE ISLAND CIVIC CHORALE & ORCHESTRA FOCUSED THE ENTIRE SEASON ON FELIX MENDELSSOHN. IN NOVEMBER THERE WERE TWO PERFORMANCES OF "PRELUDE TO GREATNESS", WHICH FEATURED MANY OF HIS EARLY WORKS: STRING OCTET, THE FIRST WALPURGIS NIGHT, HEAR MY PRAYER, AND PSALM 42. IN APRIL THE CHORALE COLLABORATED WITH SINGERS AND INSTRUMENTALISTS FROM WORCESTER POLYTECH INSTITUTE TO PRESENT TWO INTERGENERATIONAL PERFORMANCES OF THE POWERFUL DRAMA ELIJAH.
