THE ECAC ASSIGNS OFFICIALS IN 12 SPORTS IN DIVISION I, II AND III, INCLUDING MEN'S AND WOMEN'S BASKETBALL, FENCING, FIELD HOCKEY, FOOTBALL, MEN'S GYMNASTICS, MEN'S AND WOMEN'S ICE HOCKEY, MEN'S AND WOMEN'S SOCCER, SOFTBALL AND WRESTLING. IN ADDITION, THE ECAC OFFICIATING BUREAUS PROVIDE CLINICS AND WORKSHOPS, IMPROVING THE LEVEL OF OFFICIATING AND ATTRACTING THE MOST QUALIFIED COLLEGIATE OFFICIALS. THE BUREAUS ASSIGN FOR BOTH CONFERENCE AND NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS AND TOTALED OVER 46,000 ASSIGNMENTS USING MORE THAN 4,400 OFFICIALS LAST YEAR.
THE EASTERN COLLEGE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE ADMINISTERS 105 CHAMPIONSHIPS IN 37 SPORTS. THE ECAC CHAMPIONSHIPS OFFER OVER 19,000 STUDENT-ATHLETES FROM THE 321 MEMBER INSTITUTIONS AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXTEND THEIR SEASONS THROUGH THE YEAR-ENDING CHAMPIONSHIPS, OR AN ADDITIONAL POSSIBILITY TO QUALIFY FOR AN NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP. ECAC CHAMPIONSHIPS ARE HELD FOR BOTH MEN AND WOMEN IN TEAM AND INDIVIDUAL SPORTS DURING THE FALL, WINTER, AND SPRING SEASONS. THE ECAC PROVIDES LEADERSHIP ASSISTANCE FOR NUMEROUS AFFILIATE ORGANIZATIONS INCLUDING THE INTERCOLLEGIATE ASSOCIATION OF AMATEUR ATHLETES IN AMERICA AND THE EASTERN COLLEGE ATHLETIC CONFERENCE SPORTS INFORMATION DIRECTORS ASSOCIATION.
THE ECAC HOCKEY CONFERENCE IS AMONG ICE HOCKEY'S ELITE CONFERENCES FOR MEN'S AND WOMEN'S HOCKEY. IT IS SET APART FROM OTHER CONFERENCES BY ITS TRADITION AND SUCCESS IN ACADEMICS. THE ECAC HOCKEY HAS PRODUCED A VARIETY OF INFLUENTIAL AND SUCCESSFUL ALUMNI OVER THE YEARS. THE LEAGUE OFFERS A VARIETY OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR ITS FANS AND ALUMNI, INCLUDING TELEVISION PACKAGES, A CONFERENCE WEBSITE AND A WEEKLY RADIO REPORT DURING THE SEASON.
