Describe the Organization's Mission:

Part 3 - Line 1

THE CLEAN AIR TASK FORCE WORKS TO HELP SAFEGUARD AGAINST THE WORST IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE BY CATALYZING THE RAPID GLOBAL DEVELOPMENT AND DEPLOYMENT OF LOW CARBON ENERGY AND OTHER CLIMATE-PROTECTING TECHNOLOGIES THROUGH RESEARCH AND ANALYSIS, PUBLIC AVOCACY LEADERSHIP, AND PARTNERSHIP WITH THE PRIVATE SECTOR.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

SUPER POLLUTANTS INTERNATIONAL - ACCORDING TO THE CLIMATE AND CLEAN AIR COALITION A COALITION OF 71 COUNTRIES, INCLUDING THE UNITED STATES, AND 78 INTERNATIONAL AND NON- GOVERNMENTAL PARTNERS GLOBAL EFFORTS TO CUT SUPER POLLUTANTS COULD REDUCE: AT LEAST 40 PERCENT OF METHANE EMISSIONS BY 2030 COMPARED TO 2010, UP TO 70 PERCENT OF BLACK CARBON BY 2030 RELATIVE TO 2010, AND 99.5 PERCENT OF HFCS BY 2050 COMPARED TO 2010. CATF SUPPORTS THESE GOALS AND IS WORKING WITH PARTNERS AROUND THE WORLD TO ACHIEVE THEM.

ZERO CARBON FUELS - OVER THE NEXT DECADE THE WORLD MUST DEVELOP A PORTFOLIO OF ZCF PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGIES, INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS, AND MARKETS TO BRING ZCF RAPIDLY TO SCALE AND TO REDUCE COSTS. THE DIRECTION AND AMBITION FOR THAT INITIAL DEPLOYMENT WILL LIKELY BE SET IN THE NEXT FEW YEARS. CATF THEREFORE PLANS TO ENGAGE IN THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTORS TO SUPPORT POLICY AND BUSINESS PLANS THAT MAXIMIZE THE POTENTIAL FOR ZCF GROWTH DURING THIS DECADE, FOCUSED ON AREAS SOMETIMES OVERLOOKED IN CONVENTIONAL ADVOCACY.

NUCLEAR - AS THE IMPACT OF NUCLEAR TECHNOLOGY CAN BENEFIT THE GLOBAL ENERGY SECTOR, THE CATF NUCLEAR TEAM FOCUSES NOT ONLY ON MARKETS WHERE NUCLEAR ENERGY IS ALREADY DEPLOYED, SUCH AS NORTH AMERICA, EUROPE, ASIA AND LATIN AMERICA, BUT ALSO ON EMERGING COUNTRIES WHERE THE NEED FOR DECARBONIZATION IS CONSIDERED TO BE IMPORTANT IN THE YEARS AHEAD DUE TO FORECAST OF ENERGY DEMANDS. TO MEET THE CURRENT LEVEL OF PROJECTED DEMAND AND REACH A LEVEL OF NUCLEAR PLANT DEVELOPMENT CAPABLE OF MAKING A SIGNIFICANT IMPACT IN DECARBONIZATION, NUCLEAR PLANTS AND THE GLOBAL NUCLEAR INDUSTRY NEED A COMPLETE RESET.
