COMMUNITY ACCESS TO THE ARTS NURTURES AND CELEBRATES THE CREATIVITY OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES THROUGH SHARED EXPERIENCES IN THE VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS. PROGRAMS TAKE PLACE IN HEALTHCARE, THERAPEUTIC, ELDERCARE, EDUCATIONAL, COMMUNITY, AND CULTURAL SETTINGS. CATA SERVES 800 INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL, PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, AND/OR MENTAL DISABILITIES REPRESENTING 46 DIFFERENT HUMAN SERVICE AND EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS, AS WELL AS INDIVIDUALS LIVING AT HOME.

CATA ARTS IN & ARTS OUT PROGRAM- IN THIS CORE PROGRAM, CATA ARTISTS ATTEND WORKSHOPS LED BY CATA FACULTY ARTISTS SKILLED IN THE VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS. VISUAL ARTS WORKSHOPS INCLUDE DRAWING, PAINTING, COLLAGE, SCULPTURE, AND SET AND COSTUME DESIGN. PERFORMING ARTS WORKSHOPS INCLUDE SINGING, DRUMMING, DANCING, JUGGLING, AND ACTING. OTHER WORKSHOPS INCLUDE CREATIVE WRITING AND YOGA. DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, WORKSHOPS WERE CONDUCTED VIRTUALLY FOR THE 2021-2022 PROGRAM YEAR. CLASSES WERE HELD ONLINE, VIA ZOOM. 762 INDIVIDUALS WERE SERVED.
CATA DIRECT CRAFTS COOPERATIVE PROVIDES A SETTING FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE MULTIPLE CHALLENGES TO CREATE PRODUCTS THAT ARE ULTIMATELY OFFERED TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC FOR SALE.
