THIS ORGANIZATION WAS FORMED IN ORDER TO CARRY ON AN OLD TRADITION OF THE TOWN OF PROVINCETOWN WHICH WAS TO RAISE MONEY TO HAVE COMMERCIAL FISHING VESSELS AND PARTY BOATS BLESSED IN AN ANNUAL EVENT CALLED THE PORTUGUESE FESTIVAL IN DOING SO, THE ORGANIZATION IS ALSO PROVIDING ACTIVITIES WHICH HELPS THE SEASONAL BUSINESS OF THE TOWN. CONDUCTS A SIMILAR EVENT FOR PUBLIC ENTERTAINMNET CALLED THE GREAT SCHOONER RACE WHERE LOCAL VESSELS RACE TO A POINT IN CAPE COD BAY WITH THE PUBLIC WATCHING AND ROOTING THE EVENT ON
