GLEN URQUHART SCHOOL PROVIDES AN EXCEPTIONAL INDEPENDENT EDUCATION TO 200 BOYS AND GIRLS ENROLLED FROM PRE-K THROUGH EIGHTH GRADE.
SUMMER AND AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS: THE EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM PROVIDES ENRICHING, EXTENDED SCHOOL HOURS FOR THOSE CHILDREN WHO ENROLL. CHILDREN MAY CHOOSE TO PLAY ON THE PLAYGROUND, THE BASKETBALL AND FOUR SQUARE COURTS, PLAY PICK UP FOOTBALL OR SOCCER, OR ENGAGE IN IMAGINATIVE PLAY ON THE PLAYGROUND STRUCTURES. INDOORS THEY PLAY BOARD GAMES, DRAW, COOK, DO CRAFTS, READ, OR DO HOMEWORK. STUDENTS MAY ALSO ENROLL IN AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT CLASSES CALLED GUS+. THE TOPICS INCLUDE BALLET, MOVIE MAKING, CHESS, ART CLASSES, SPORTS, YOGA, FENCING, DANCE AND SSAT PREPARATION. THE SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM PROVIDES A VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES THAT INCLUDE DEVISING ADVENTURES, CREATING ARTS AND CRAFTS, EXPLORING OUR NATURAL ENVIRONMENT, ENGAGING IN OUTDOOR GAMES, AND SWIMMING. THEME DAYS AND ALL-CAMP SPECIAL EVENTS ARE BLENDED INTO EACH SESSION TO ADD TO THE FUN.
