WITH A SMALL DEDICATED STAFF AND MANY VOLUNTEERS, LORRAINE'S SOUP KITCHEN SERVES OVER 30,000 EVENING MEALS EACH YEAR. IN ADDITION, THE PANTRY PROVIDES EMERGENCY TAKE-HOME FOOD SUPPLIES TO QUALIFIED CITY RESIDENTS. MORE THAN 400 FAMILIES VISIT THE PANTRY EACH MONTH.


PANTRY PROGRAM - LSKP OFFERS A DAILY PANTRY PROGRAM, MON THRU FRI. RESIDENTS CAN RECEIVE DRY FOODS, DAIRY PRODUCTS, MEATS, AND BREADS ONCE EVERY 30 DAYS. UNDER FOOD BANK REGULATIONS, WE MUST ALSO PROVIDE FOOD TO NON-RESIDENTS, BUT THEY RECEIVE ONLY DRY GOODS AND BREAD. IN FISCAL 2023 WE PROVIDED 13,910 SERVICE VISITS (MEANING FOOD WAS DISTRIBUTED TO HOUSEHOLDS THAT MANY TIMES). WE AVERAGED 510 FAMILIES PER MONTH, REPRESENTING 1,109 INDIVIDUALS.


THE ORGANIZATION PARTNERED WITH ANOTHER LOCAL FOOD PANTRY, THE GRAY HOUSE FOOD PANTRY, BY RUNNING THEIR FOOD PANTRY. THIS PARTNERSHIP HAS MADE THE GRAY HOUSE'S PROGRAM SUSTAINABLE BY MEETING THE INCREASED DEMAND FOR FOOD ASSISTANCE.


DINNER PROGRAM - LSKP OFFERS A NIGHTLY MEAL, MON THRU FRI. THE MEAL IS AVAILABLE FOR TAKE-OUT OR EAT-IN. IN FISCAL 2023 WE PROVIDED 16,572 MEALS.


MOBILE PANTRY - LSKP OPERATES A MOBILE PANTRY, THE GOES OUT TO APPROX 15 SITES ACROSS CHICOPEE EACH MONTH. (THE NUMBER OF SITES VARY BY MONTH FOR A NUMBER OF REASONS) TO DISTRIBUTE FOOD TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES THAT CANNOT GET TO OUR SITE. IN FISCAL 2023 WE PROVIDED FOOD FOR APPROX. 2,800 HOUSEHOLD VISITS.
