FIELD AND INFRASTRUCTURE BUILDING - APIAVOTE WORKS WITH LOCAL NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, COALITIONS, AND CIVIC GROUPS AND HELPS THEM INCORPORATE CIVIC AND VOTER ENGAGEMENT INTO THEIR EXISTING FRAMEWORKS. APIA VOTE ASSESSES LEADERSHIP, COALITION, AND ORGANIZATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE BETWEEN ITS LOCAL AND NATIONAL PARTNERS.
RESEARCH AND COMMUNICATIONS - TO BETTER UNDERSTAND THE ASIAN AMERICAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER ELECTORATE, APIAVOTE USES CENSUS DATA AND GATHERS SURVEY DATA TO IDENTIFY KEY ISSUES, DEMOGRAPHICS, AND TRENDS. IN ADDITION TO DATA ANALYSIS AND COLLECTION, VARIOUS MESSAGING STRATEGIES ARE TESTED AND IMPLEMENTED TO MOTIVATE AND EDUCATE AAPI VOTERS AND ULTIMATELY INCREASE THEIR CIVIC ENGAGEMENT. THESE STRATEGIES AND MESSAGING ARE REVIEWED ANNUALLY IN ORDER TO DETERMINE BEST PRACTICES AND LESSONS LEARNED. APIAVOTE ALSO DOES AD PLACEMENTS AND TARGETED AD BUYS IN ORDER TO RAISE AWARENESS AROUND CIVIC ENGAGEMENT ISSUES IMPORTANT TO THE AAPI COMMUNITY SUCH AS THE UPCOMING 2020 CENSUS. BY UTILIZING OUR SURVEY AND MESSAGING FINDINGS, APIAVOTE AIMS TO CONTINUALLY PERFECT OUR COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGIES AND BECOME A DRIVING FORCE BEHIND THE NARRATIVE AROUND THE AAPI COMMUNITY.
LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT AND CAPACITY BUILDING - APIAVOTE HOLDS A SERIES OF WEEKEND-LONG LEADERSHIP TRAININGS FOR NONPROFIT STAFF, COMMUNITY LEADERS AND VOLUNTEERS IN CITIES ACROSS THE COUNTY. TRAINEES ARE TAUGHT TO RUN AN EFFECTIVE VOTER-MOBILIZATION PROGRAM AND INCORPORATE CIVIC PARTICIPATION INTO AN APIA VOTE AND/OR COALITION'S EXISTING STRUCTURE.
