OPUS BONO SACERDOTII PROVIDES SPIRITUAL, EMOTIONAL AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO AND ON BEHALF OF ACTIVE, RETIRED, SUSPENDED, LAICIZED OR INCARCERATED CATHOLIC PRIESTS FOR A VARIETY OF NEEDS INCLUDING FOOD, LODGING, MEDICAL, TRANSPORTATION AND AUTOMOBILE REPAIR. OPUS BONO ALSO PROVIDES LEGAL AND CANONICAL ADVICE AND HELPS ARRANGE SUCH SERVICES FOR PRIESTS. DIRECT FINANCIAL SUPPORT IS ALSO OFFERED IN THE FORM OF RETREATS WHICH ARE FUNDED BY OPUS BONO . THEY ALSO PROVIDE RELIGIOUS AND SPIRITUAL LITERATURE AS IS APPROPRIATE. FINANCIAL SUPPORT IS OFFERED ON AN AS NEEDED BASIS EXCEPT FOR THE RETREATS WHICH ARE WHOLLY FUNDED BY OPUS BONO.
IN JANUARY 2019, OPUS BONO SACERDOTII REFOCUSED ITS MISSION TO BECOME A RETREAT CENTER FOR CATHOLIC PRIESTS IN CRISIS, WHILE CONTINUING TO PROVIDE THE SERVICES LISTED IN FORM 990, PART III, LINE 4A AS "LEGACY" SERVICES TO EXISTING BENEFICIARIES UNTIL SUCH TIME AS: (A) ANOTHER ORGANIZATION COULD PROVIDE THOSE SERVICES; OR (B) THE BENEFICIARY NO LONGER REQUIRED THOSE SERVICES. OPUS BONO BEGAN PROVIDING RETREATS TO PRIESTS BENEFICIARIES IN 2018. IT NOW PROVIDES UP TO FOUR RETREATS FREE OF CHARGE EACH YEAR AT LOCATIONS AROUND THE UNITED STATES. OPUS BONO HAS REDUCED THE PROVISION OF THOSE LEGACY SERVICES AS IT HAS INCREASED ITS RETREAT AND SPIRITUAL RENEWAL SERVICES.
