THE CANCER PATIENT EMERGENCY FUND IS DESIGNED TO ASSIST WITH THE FINANCIAL NEEDS OF CANCER PATIENTS WHO FIND THEMSELVES IN FINANCIAL CRISIS DUE TO THEIR ILLNESS. THE EMERGENCY FUND SERVICES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: EMERGENCY FOOD AND SHELTER ASSISTANCE, TELEPHONE AND HEATING BILLS DURING TIME OF CRISIS, TRANSPORTATION SUPPORT IF NEEDED FOR CARE PLAN, MEDICALLY APPROPRIATE SUPPLIES NOT COVERED BY INSURANCE, MEDICATIONS, AND CHILDCARE TO ALLOW A PARENT TO GET CANCER CARE. THE PATIENT CAN ONLY USE THE FUND ONCE PER YEAR. CURRENTLY THE CAP IS AT $350 FOR MOST PATIENTS, WITH AN ADDITIONAL $100 AVAILABLE, DEPENDENT ON GRANT FUNDING.
THE CANCER PATIENT SUPPORT FOUNDATION MAGGIE CARD PROVIDES DISCOUNTS FOR LOCAL CANCER PATIENTS, WHILE IN TREATMENT,FOR PRODUCTS AND SERVICES AT PARTICIPATING BUSINESSES.
