APPRENTICESHIP TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE THE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROVIDED TO EMPLOYERS, SPONSORS, FEDERAL CONTRACTORS, FEDERAL AND STATE AGENCIES, EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS, ASSOCIATIONS, STATE AND REGIONAL WORKFORCE BOARDS, AND GRANTEES CONTINUED TO EXPAND IN 2022. THIS ASSISTANCE SUPPORTED THE EDUCATION, ADOPTION, DEVELOPMENT, FUNDING, EMPLOYER ENGAGEMENT, PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, RECRUITMENT FOR, AND STRATEGIC USE OF APPRENTICESHIPS AS PART OF A COMPREHENSIVE AND CUSTOMIZED WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY BOTH NATIONALLY AND LOCALLY.IN 2022, A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF FOCUS WAS ON YEAR TWO OF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE FOR ABT ASSOCIATES AND A GROUP OF 38 HRSA GRANTEES. ALL GRANTEES RECEIVED HRSA GRANTS TO SUPPORT THE TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT OF PARAPROFESSIONALS IN BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TO ADDRESS THE NATIONAL NEED FOR QUALIFIED PEER SUPPORT SPECIALISTS AND COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKERS WHO ARE SUPPORTING SUBSTANCE USE DISORDERS AND INDIVIDUALS RECOVERY.
HEALTHCARE IN 2022, VERMONT HITEC DELIVERED HEALTHCARE APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING PROGRAMS IN VERMONT, COLORADO, AND MINNESOTA. VERMONT HITEC CONTINUED TO LEVERAGE REMOTE LEARNING WHEN REQUIRED OR DESIRED BASED ON CURRENT PANDEMIC CONDITIONS. VERMONT HITEC WAS ALSO DIRECTLY ENGAGED WITH PROGRAM MANAGEMENT, APPRENTICE RECRUITMENT AND ENGAGEMENT, AND EDUCATION DELIVERY. IN CASES WHERE A HYBRID APPROACH WORKED, THE MODEL WAS LEVERAGED TO MAINTAIN HANDS-ON APPLIED LEARNING WHILE ALSO PRESERVING DISTANCE LEARNING. ITAR PROGRAMS - THE VERMONT ITAR PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO RETAIN THOSE DISLOCATED OR UNDEREMPLOYED WORKERS BY PROVIDING THEM WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE EDUCATED AND MENTORED FOR AVAILABLE POSITIONS IN ADVANCED MANUFACTURING, HEALTHCARE, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, AND BUSINESS SERVICES. ADVANCED MANUFACTURING STAR PROGRAMS - THE VERMONT STAR PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO RETAIN THOSE DISLOCATED OR UNDEREMPLOYED WORKERS BY PROVIDING THEM WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE EDUCATED AND MENTORED FOR AVAILABLE POSITIONS IN ADVANCED MANUFACTURING, HEALTHCARE, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, AND BUSINESS SERVICES. IN 2022, WE DEVELOPED AND IMPLEMENTED SIX ADVANCED MANUFACTURING STAR PROGRAMS. THE STAR PROGRAMS INCLUDE EMPLOYER ENGAGEMENT AND EMPLOYMENT GUARANTEES FROM EMPLOYERS CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT BASED ON EMPLOYER JOB REQUIREMENTS RECRUITMENT OF APPLICANTS FOR THE EMPLOYER DEVELOPMENT OF EMPLOYER BEHAVIORAL AND TECHNICAL COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION DELIVERY TRANSITION ALL PARTICIPANTS INTO A REGISTERED APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM WITH THE EMPLOYER MENTOR EMPLOYER PARTNER AND STAFF ON APPRENTICESHIP MODEL MENTOR APPRENTICES DURING THE TRANSITION TO EMPLOYMENT AND ON-THE-JOB LEARNING PHASE AND COORDINATE WITH ALL REGIONAL, STATE AND FEDERAL PARTNERS ON BEHALF OF THE EMPLOYER PARTNER.
