APPRENTICESHIP TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE THE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PROVIDED TO EMPLOYERS, SPONSORS, FEDERAL CONTRACTORS, FEDERAL AND STATE AGENCIES, EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS, ASSOCIATIONS, STATE AND REGIONAL WORKFORCE BOARDS, AND GRANTEES CONTINUED TO EXPAND IN 2021. THE MOST SIGNIFICANT TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE EFFORT IN 2021 RESULTED IN A PARTNERSHIP AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE THROUGH A FEDERAL CONTRACTOR, ABT ASSOCIATES, TO SUPPORT THE NEEDS OF 38 HRSA GRANTEES IN MEETING THEIR GRANT OBJECTIVES. ALL GRANTEES RECEIVED HRSA GRANTS TO SUPPORT THE TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT OF PARAPROFESSIONALS IN BEHAVIORAL HEALTH TO ADDRESS THE NATIONAL NEED FOR QUALIFIED PEER SUPPORT SPECIALISTS AND COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKERS WHO ARE SUPPORTING SUBSTANCE USE DISORDERS AND INDIVIDUALS RECOVERY. THE APPRENTICESHIP MODEL WAS A REQUIRED ELEMENT OF THE TRAINING SOLUTIONS DEVELOPED BY EACH GRANTEE. CONTINUED IN SCH O
HEALTHCARE ITAR PROGRAMS - IN 2021, VERMONT HITEC CONTINUED DELIVERY OF APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING PROGRAMS IN VERMONT AND NEW HAMPSHIRE. BASED ON THE COVID-19 EXPERIENCE IN 2020, THE RECRUITMENT TOOLS AND THE EDUCATION DELIVERY MODEL WERE DIRECTLY IMPACTED WELL INTO 2021. VERMONT HITEC LEVERAGED REMOTE LEARNING WHEN REQUIRED OR DESIRED BASED ON CURRENT PANDEMIC CONDITIONS. IN CASES WHERE A HYBRID APPROACH WORKED, THE MODEL WAS LEVERAGED TO MAINTAIN HANDS-ON APPLIED LEARNING WHILE ALSO PRESERVING DISTANCE LEARNING. ITAR PROGRAMS - THE VERMONT ITAR PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO RETAIN THOSE DISLOCATED OR UNDEREMPLOYED WORKERS IN VERMONT AND NEW HAMPSHIRE BY PROVIDING THEM WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE EDUCATED AND MENTORED FOR AVAILABLE POSITIONS IN ADVANCED MANUFACTURING, HEALTHCARE, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, AND BUSINESS SERVICES.
