OPERATION OF GREEN MOUNTAIN LIONS CAMP FOR DEAF CHILDREN; VISION SCREENING OF CHILDREN; PURCHASE ASSISTANCE OF EYEGLASSES FOR NEEDY VERMONTERS; SUPPORT FOR LOCAL LIONS CLUBS' CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES; FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO PARENTS OF CHILDREN AFFLICTED WITH CANCER

WE CONDUCTED VISION SCREENING EXAMS IN SCHOOLS, PRE-SCHOOLS, AND DAY CARES THROUGHOUT VERMONT. OUR HIGH-TECH "CAMERAS" DETECT A VARIETY OF POTENTIAL VISION PROBLEMS NOT DETECTED BY THE TRADITIONAL EYE CHART, AFFECTING OVER 10% OF STUDENTS TESTED. SUCH STUDENTS ARE REFERRED TO EYE CARE PROFESSIONALS.


WE OFFER FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO LOCAL LIONS CLUBS FOR A VARIETY OF CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES.


WE DONATED TO REGIONAL AND STATE ORGANIZATIONS PROVIDING RELIEF FROM THE UNUSUAL FLOODING THAT OCCURRED IN VERMONT THIS YEAR. THIS INCLUDED THE VERMONT FLOOD RESPONSE AND RECOVERY FUND, THE BARRE COMMUNITY RELIEF FUND, AND HARDWICK NEIGHBOR TO NEIGHBOR.
