THE MISSION OF ASSOCIATES FOR TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT(A4TD) IS TO ASSIST MATURE WORKERS TO BECOME THE BEST-QUALIFIED CANDIDATES FOR JOBS CONSISTENT WITH THEIR INTERESTS AND ABILITIES.

IN PROGRAM YEAR 2021, ASSOCIATES FOR TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT SERVED A TOTAL OF 888 PARTICIPANTS AS A NATIONAL GRANTEE AND STATE (CT, VT, AND NY) SUB-GRANTEE OF THE SENIOR COMMUNITY SERVICE EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM (SCSEP), THE ONLY FEDERALLY FUNDED JOBS TRAINING PROGRAM DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR WORKERS AGE 55+. THOSE PARTICIPANTS CONTRIBUTED OVER 296,456 HOURS IN PAID SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY IN MANY DIVERSE NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND PUBLIC AGENCIES. PARTICIPANTS RECEIVED 408,829 HOURS OF PAID TRAINING IN ADDITION TO THEIR COMMUNITY SERVICE ASSIGNMENTS, EQUIPPING THEM WITH RELEVANT SKILLS AND CREDENTIALS TO MEET THE LABOR NEEDS OF BUSINESSES IN THEIR AREAS. PARTICIPANTS ALSO RECEIVED 799 HOURS OF PAID EMERGENCY LEAVE SUPPORT BENEFITS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. IN TOTAL, PARTICIPANTS WERE PAID FOR OVER 706,000 HOURS OF SCSEP SERVICES FOR THE YEAR. INDIVIDUALS WHO HAD ENTERED OUR PROGRAMS UNEMPLOYED EXITED THEM FOR WORK. WE ALSO OPERATED THE VERMONT RETURNSHIPS PROGRAM, AN INNOVATIVE WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT SERVING INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE LEFT OR ARE POISED TO LEAVE THE WORKFORCE, HELPING THEM CONNECT WITH EMPLOYMENT OPTIONS THAT MEET THEIR NEEDS.
