COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM (CEP): CONNECT HAS SHIFTED ITS VIOLENCE PREVENTION WORK TO THE VIRTUAL REALM. ALL OUR CIRCLES, ROUNDTABLES, AND WORKSHOPS NOW TAKE PLACE ON-LINE AND HAVE INCREASED IN FREQUENCY. OUR LONG-TERM AND INTENSIVE MULTIPLE HOUR TRANSFORMATIVE EDUCATION PROGRAMS HAVE BEEN REDESIGNED TO BE OFFERED AND MEET VIDEO-CONFERENCE PLATFORMS. WE CONTINUE TO OFFER TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND CAPACITY BUILDING TO COMMUNITY PARTNERS, AND THE CREATION OF COMMUNITY EVENTS THROUGH ZOOM. FOR OUR COMMUNITY MEMBERS WHO ARE UNABLE TO PARTICIPATE VIRTUALLY FOR REASONS OF SAFETY AND/OR LACK OF INTERNET ACCESS, ALSO AVAILABLE BY PHONE AND TEXT MESSAGING. THE NEED FOR CONNECTION AND SUPPORT IN THESE TIMES OF ENORMOUS STRESS IS TREMENDOUS FOR BOTH SURVIVORS AND THOSE WHO MAY BE ON THE VERGE OF CAUSING HARM. FROM A LISTENING EAR TO SAFETY PLANNING AND INFORMATION ABOUT RESOURCES, OUR STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH COMMUNITY MEMBERS AND ORGANIZATIONS HAVE MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR US TO CONTINUE TO HELP BUILD STRONG FAMILIES AND PEACEFUL COMMUNITIES.
