PROMOTING THE CONSERVATION AND MANAGEMENT OF FISH AND WILDLIFE RESOURCES IN THE NORTHEAST BY:1. RUNNING THE NORTHEAST FISH & WILDLIFE CONFERENCE WITH THE OBJECTIVE TO COMMUNICATE SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION ON THE BIOLOGY, ECOLOGY AND CONSERVATION OF FISH AND WILDLIFE HABITATS AND SPECIES.2. PROVIDING TRAINING FOR THE CONSERVATION LEADERS FOR TOMORROW (CLFT) WITH THE OBJECTIVE TO PROVIDE INFORMATION ON HUNTING AND SCIENTIFIC WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT TO YOUNG PROFESSIONALS IN STATE AGENCIES. 3. PROVIDING CONSERVATION GRANTS TO THE WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT INSTITUTE (WMI), IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FEDERAL REGIONAL CONSERVATION NEEDS (RCN) GRANT PROGRAM, WITH THE OBJECTIVE TO CREATE AND PARTICIPATE IN THE NORTHEAST WILDLIFE TEAMWORK STRATEGY (NEWTS).
