FOUNDED IN 1980, GRANITE STATE INDEPENDENT LIVING (GSIL) IS A STATEWIDE NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION WHOSE MISSION IS TO PROMOTE LIFE WITH INDEPENDENCE FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND SENIORS THROUGH ADVOCACY, INFORMATION, EDUCATION AND SUPPORT. GSIL OFFERS A WIDE VARIETY OF TOOLS AND SERVICES, INCLUDING INFORMATION AND REFERRAL, EMPLOYMENT SERVICES, ASL INTERPRETER REFERRAL, PEER SUPPORT, TRANSPORTATION, PERSONAL CARE, ACCESS MODIFICATION AND BENEFITS COUNSELING.

PERSONAL CARE ATTENDANTS PROVIDE NON-MEDICAL, HANDS-ON ASSISTANCE WITH ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING FOR SENIORS AND ADULTS LIVING WITH DISABILITIES. A PERSONAL CARE WORKER HELPS INDIVIDUALS TO BATHE, DRESS, EAT AND NAVIGATE A RANGE OF OTHER DAILY TASKS. IN ADDITION TO PROVIDING ASSISTANCE WITH ACTIVITIES OF DAILY LIVING, PERSONAL CARE WORKERS CAN ASSIST WITH HOUSEKEEPING CHORES, MEAL PREPARATION AND MEDICATION MANAGEMENT.
