THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDED COMPREHENSIVE TOBACCO USE PREVENTION AND CESSATION PROGRAMS IN ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA. ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA HAS HISTORICALLY HAD ONE OF THE WORST RATES OF MATERNAL SMOKING IN THE COUNTRY. DURING THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2020, TOBACCO FREE ALLEGHENY'S (TFA) PRIMARY FUNDING SOURCE CEASED. WITHOUT THE CONTINUED RESOURCES TO FUND THE PROGRAM OPERATIONS, TFA BEGAN THE PROCESS OF FORMALLY LIQUIDATING OPERATIONS WITH ALL REMAINING FUNDS RETURNED TO THE COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA, DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH.
