CRYPTONITE TEAM 624 WAS COMPOSED OF 50 CINCO RANCH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ALONG WITH VERY DEDICATED VOLUNTEER PARENTS AND MENTORS WHO COME TOGETHER TO COMPLETE THE YEARLY FIRST ROBOTICS CHALLENGE AND COLLABORATE TO ENHANCE OUR COMMUNITY. APPROXIMATELY 25% OF THE STUDENT MEMBERSHIP IS FEMALE. CRYPTONITE COMPETES IN THE FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION, OR FRC. THE TEAM COMPETED IN TWO TEXAS UIL DISTRICT EVENT AT WACO AND SAN ANTONIO (1ST PLACE) AND QUALIFIED FOR THE TEXAS STATE UIL CHAMPIONSHIP IN HOUSTON (2ND PLACE) AND THE FIRST WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP HELD IN THE GEORGE R BROWN CONFERENCE CENTER WITH 600 OTHER TEAMS FROM AROUND THE WORLD. THE TEAM ALSO COMPETED AT THE TEXAS ROBOTICS INVITATIONAL AT STRAKE HIGH SCHOOL AND WAS MEMBER OF 2ND PLACE ALLIANCE. CRYPTONITE STUDENTS ALSO ORGANIZED THREE VERY SUCCESSFUL SCIENCE CAMPS FOR 4-7 GRADE STUDENTS THAT GENERATED CA. $10000 OF REVENUE FOR THE TEAM THAT COULD BE USED TO PURCHASE BUILD SUPPLIES FOR THE SEASON.
