THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE A COMMUNITY ARTS CENTER DEDICATED TO THE PRESENTATION OF QUALITY PROGRAMS AND THE PRESERVATION OF THE HISTORIC BOOTHBAY HARBOR OPERA HOUSE FOR THE ENRICHMENT OF THE COMMUNITY.

IN 2021, THE ORGANIZATION CELEBRATED ITS 18TH ANNIVERSARY OF FULL OPERATIONS. DUE TO STATE MANDATED COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS, THE OPERA HOUSE WAS CLOSED ENTIRELY FROM JANUARY 1, 2021 THROUGH MARCH 31, 2021. FOR THE BALANCE OF THE YEAR THE ORGANIZATION WAS ABLE TO PRODUCE AND PRESENT 33 CONCERTS AND SEVERAL OTHER EVENTS TO SMALLER SOCIALLY DISTANCED AUDIENCES. MORE THAN A DOZEN CONTRACTED CONCERTS WERE CANCELLED TO TO COVID-19 CONCERNS. NORMALLY THE ORGANIZATION PRODUCES AND PRESENTS NEARLY 100 CONCERTS AND EVENTS FOR THE COMMUNITY, OFFERING A CONTINUOUS SCHEDULE OF FREE AND TICKETED PERFORMING ARTS EVENTS BY NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL ENTERTAINERS SUITABLE FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN OF ALL AGES. PRODUCING CONCERTS AND PROVIDING PROGRAMS AND EVENTS OPEN TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC HELP THE ORGANIZATION ACCOMPLISH ITS MISSION OF OPERATING A COMMUNITY ARTS CENTER THAT ENLIVENS AND ENRICHES THE LIVES OF LOCAL CITIZENRY. IN 2021, THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUED TO MAKE ITS FACILITY AVAILABLE FOR USE, EITHER GRATIS OR FOR A NOMINAL FEE, FOR PUBLIC, CIVIC AND NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS FOR EVENTS ATTENDED BY THE GENERAL PUBLIC. HOSTING FAMILY ORIENTED EVENTS FOR THE COMMUNITY, SPONSORED BY BOTH THE ORGANIZATION AND OTHER LOCAL NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, FURTHERS THE ORGANIZATION'S PURPOSE OF OPERATING A COMMUNITY ARTS CENTER. IN 2008, THE BUILDING WAS CERTIFIED AS A HISTORIC STRUCTURE BY THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR AND ADDED TO THE NATIONAL HISTORIC REGISTER. THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUOUSLY WORKS TO HONOR THAT DESIGNATION.
