THE MAINE ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION ASSOCIATION ENHANCES AND AMPLIFIES THE EFFORTS OF INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIONS BUILDING ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS, APPRECIATION, UNDERSTANDING AND ACTION IN MAINE.

Part 3 - Line 4a

PROGRAM 1: EDUCATOR TRAINING AND SUPPORT: MEEA PROVIDES TRAINING, COACHING, AND RESOURCE CONNECTION TO EDUCATORS IN THE STATE PURSUING ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND OUTDOOR LEARNING. WE ALSO PROVIDE MONTHLY EQUITY TRAINING AND RESOURCES FOR THE FIELD. IN ADDITION, WE SHARE STORIES OF SUCCESS, ADVOCATE FOR POLICIES AND FUNDING TO SUPPORT ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND OUTDOOR LEARNING, AND EVALUATE THE FIELD. MEEA MANAGES A SMALL GRANTS PROGRAM TO SUPPORT TEACHERS IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS IN MAINE TO PURCHASE OUTDOOR LEARNING SUPPLIES. MEEA ALSO CELEBRATES EXCELLENCE IN THE FIELD THROUGH OUR ANNUAL AWARDS.


PROGRAM 2: MAINE ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGEMAKERS NETWORK THE MAINE ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGEMAKERS IS A YOUTH-LED INTERGENERATIONAL NETWORK THAT CONNECTS YOUNG MAINERS (AGES 15-30) FROM DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS WHO ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT WITH PEER MENTORS, AND ESTABLISHED PROFESSIONAL MENTORS, IN THE SECTOR. CHANGEMAKERS COLLABORATES WITH CAMPAIGN EARTH ON OUR JUSTME FOR JUSTUS PROGRAM AND WITH SOUTHERN MAINE CONSERVATION COLLABORATIVE ON OUR RELEARNING PLACE PROJECT.


PROGRAM 3: 2021 ANNUAL CONFERENCE THE 2021 ANNUAL CONFERENCE WAS HOSTED VIRTUALLY BETWEEN APRIL 7TH AND 8TH. IT FEATURED WORKSHOPS FROM VARIETY OF PRESENTERS, TWO KEYNOTE PLENARY PANELS, AND A NUMBER OF CONNECTING SPACES. THE CONFERENCE EXPLORED AND SHARED STRATEGIES AND IDEAS FOR MORE EFFECTIVELY IMPLEMENTING OUTDOOR AND ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE STATE.IN 2021 MEEA DID NOT CHARGE A LARGE REGISTRATION FEE, ONLY ASKING FOR DONATIONS AND DID NOT TRACK DIRECTLY RELATED CONFERENCE COSTS SEPERATELY AS THEY WERE DE MINIMIS.
