ADVOCATES FOR STATE AND FEDERAL LEGISLATION THAT BENEFITS MAINE'S OVER 46,000 RETIREES RECEIVING PENSIONS THROUGH MAINE PERS USING IN HOUSE STAFF AND PROFESSIONAL LOBBYISTS. MAR TESTIFIES AT HEARINGS, AND PROVIDES INFORMATION TO OUR MEMBERSHIP, LEGISLATORS, THE GOVERNOR, REGULATORY AGENCIES, AND THE PUBLIC ON ISSUES AFFECTING RETIREE BENEFIT.
ORGANIZES AND CONDUCTS ANNUAL AND REGIONAL MEETINGS THROUGHOUT THE STATE FOR MEMBERS TO DISCUSS PENSIONS, BENEFITS, AND INSURANCE ISSUES, AND PROVIDE MEMBERS INFORMATION ON THE VARIOUS SERVICES AVAILABLE TO THEM.
