EIGHT LEGIONNAIRES WHO VOLUNTEER AT THE VAN BUREN FOOD PANTRY. EACH VOLUNTEER WORKS 4 HOURS ON TUESDAYS AND 4 HOURS ON THURSDAYS TWO LEGIONNAIRS ALSO VULUNTEER TO GET FOOD FOR EMERGENCIES. WE AVERAGE ABOUT TWO EMERGENCIES A MONTH. THE LEGIONNAIRS POST AMERICAN FLAGS AT THREE CENTENARIES MEMORIALDAY AND PICK UP THE FLAGS IN LATE FALL THREE LEGIONNAIRS POST TEH AMERICAN FLAGS ON MAIN STREE IN THE SPRINT AND TAKE THEM OUT DURING THE FALL THE LEGIONNAIRES ORGANIZED THE SERVICES AT THE TREE CENTENARIES FOR MEMBORIAL DAY WEEK END AND ATTENDED THE VETERANS SERVICES ON NOVEMBER 11. WE USUALLY HAVE ABOUT 11 MEMBERS THE LEGION ALSO HAVE AN HONOR GUARD VETERANS FUNERALS. THERE WERE 6-7 FUNERAL THIS YEAR.USUALLY 10-15 LEGIONARIES ATTEND SEVERAL LEGIONNAIRES REGULARLY GO TO ASSISTED LIVING HOME TO VISIT LEGIONNAIRS ABOUT 4 TIMES A YEAR THE LEGION HAS MEMBERS WHO DONATE BLOOD TO THE AMERICAN RED CROSS. ONE LEGIONNAIRE HAS DONATED 118 PINTS OF BLOOD.
