WE ARE A COMMUNITY DEDICATED TO THE PROSPERITY OF MAINE'S GROCERY AND FOOD PRODUCER INDUSTRY THROUGH EXCELLENCE IN ADVOCACY, NETWORKING AND EDUCATION.

IN 2023, THE ASSOCIATION (MGFPA) FULFILLED OUR MISSION BY PROVIDING FULL- TIME LOBBYING DURING THE LEGISLATIVE SESSION AND YEAR-ROUND POLICY WORK AS IT RELATES TO RULE-MAKING AND STAKEHOLDER DISCUSSIONS. WE CONVENED SUB- COMMITTEES AND SOUGHT INPUT FROM MEMBERS TO PROVIDE RELEVANT TESTIMONY AND FEEDBACK FOR POLICY CREATION. MGFPA PROVIDED WEEKLY LEGISLATIVE UPDATES AND MEMBER COMMUNICATIONS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR TO KEEP MEMBERS APPRISED OF INDUSTRY NEWS, GRANT OPPORTUNITIES, AND EVENTS. WE PROVIDED MULTIPLE EDUCATIONAL WEBINARS WHICH INCLUDED TIMELY AND CRITICAL INFORMATION FOR BUSINESSES TO REMAIN LEGALLY COMPLIANT AS WELL AS INDUSTRY EXPERTS. MGFPA COORDINATED OUR ANNUAL SPRING LEGISLATIVE "DAY UNDER THE DOME" FOR NETWORKING WITH THE LEGISLATURE; GOLF TOURNAMENT AND SUMMIT EVENT. OUR EVENTS DREW A STRONG CROSS-SECTOR OF OUR MEMBERSHIP AND OFFERED PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES. MGFPA GRANTED THREE 1,000 COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIPS TO QUALIFYING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO FURTHER THEIR EDUCATION.
