THE SOCIETY FOR INVERTEBRATE PATHOLOGY (SIP) WAS FOUNDED IN 1967 AS AN INTERDISCIPLINARY SCIENTIFIC SOCIETY THAT WOULD DRAW TOGETHER MEMBERS FROM DIVERSE SCIENTIFIC BACKGROUNDS UNDER THE UNIFIED DISCIPLINE OF INVERTEBRATE PATHOLOGY.

The goal of this organization is to protect our natural resources from abuse, neglect, waste or exploitation and preserve their availability for future generations.

VERONA AREA SWIM TEAM (VAST) IS A YEAR-ROUND COMPETITIVE SWIM TEAM OFFERING HIGH-QUALITY PROFESSIONAL COACHING AND TECHNIQUE INSTRUCTION FOR ALL AGES AND ABILITIES. THE GOAL OF OUR TEAM IS TO PROVIDE EVERY MEMBER AN OPPORTUNITY TO IMPROVE SWIMMING SKILLS AND ACHIEVE SUCCESS AT HIS OR HER LEVEL OF ABILITY, FROM NOVICE TO INTERNATIONAL COMPETITOR.

GIVING SKATERS THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIAPTE IN COMPETITIVE HOCKEY REGARDLESS OF THEIR SKILL LEVEL. 2. ENCOURAGING SKATERS TO ACHIEVE INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM GOALS THROUGH POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT. 3. PROVIDING PRACTICE AND GAME FACILITIES THAT ARE SAFE AND ALWAYS SUPERVISED BY QUALIFIED COACHES. 4. PROMOTING THE IDEALS OF TEAMWORK, COMPETITION, SPORTSMANSHIP, AND FAIR PLAY IN VICTORY AND DEFEAT. 5. ENCOURAGING PARENT INVOLVEMENT AND GUIDANCE IN HELPING SKATERS ACHIEVE THEIR INDIVIDUAL AND TEAM GOALS. 6. TEACHING SKATERS THE IMPORTANCE OF PRACTICE TIME AND PROPER EQUIPMENT.

These programs may be offered by local clubs devoted to a particular activity or sport; may provide individual or team coaching assistance or instruction, access to equipment and facilities, and uniforms, if necessary; and may sponsor or make arrangements for athletes to participate in amateur competitions, usually at the local or regional level, and provide officials for games. These events are generally for the enjoyment of the athletes and are not at a high enough competitive level to be considered spectator sports.
