THE CENTER WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1956 AS A SUCCESSOR TO WORK THAT BEGAN IN THE EARLY TWENTIETH CENTURY BY ROBERT FORREST, THOMAS FITCH, NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE ASSOCIATION, PEARLE HARRIS AND MANY OTHERS.

OUR MISSION IS TO UNITE PEOPLE, RESOURCES AND ORGANIZATIONS TO IMPROVE LIVES IN WASHINGTON COUNTY. THE UNITED WAY OF WASHINGTON COUNTY ENVISIONS A COMMUNITY WHERE EVERYONE ACHIEVES THEIR HUMAN POTENTIAL THROUGH EDUCATION, FINANCIAL STABILITY AND HEALTHY LIVES.

VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY AND RESCUE SQUAD PROVIDING EMERGENCY SERVICES WHICH INCLUDE FIRE, ACCIDENT, FLOOD AND PERSONAL EMERGECY SERVICES FOR THE RESIDENTS OF CANTON TOWNSHIP AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS.

TRANSITIONAL EMPLOYMENT CONSULTANT'S MISSION IS TO ASSIST INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES TO BECOME INDEPENDENT, PRODUCTIVE MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY BY PROVIDING JOB READINESS TRAINING AND PLACEMENT INTO COMPETITIVE EMPLOYMENT.
