THE ORGANIZATION IS A DISTRICT MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION ESTABLISHED PURSUANT TO GENERAL MUNICIPAL LAW SECT. 980-M TO CARRY OUT THE ACTIVITIES OF THE BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT ESTABLISHED BY THE TOWN OF NORTH HEMPSTEAD. THE PURPOSE OF THE DISTRICT IS TO ENHANCE THE DOWNTOWN BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT, ENCOURAGE VISITORS AND SHOPPERS, AND ELIMINATE BLIGHT. THE ORGANIZATION IS A COMPONENT UNIT OF THE TOWN OF NORTH HEMPSTEAD.

FOUNDED IN 2007, GALLIM DANCE IS A NEW YORK BASED CONTEMPORARY DANCE COMPANY DEDICATED TO CREATING AND PERFORMING ORIGINAL WORK BY ANDREA MILLER, NURTURING THE CAREERS OF YOUNG ARTISTS, AND STIMULATING THE IMAGINATION OF A DIVERSE, INTERNATIONAL AUDIENCE.

MISSION:

THE FOUNDATION IS DEDICATED TO FINDING A CURE FOR LEUKEMIA AND TO SUPPORTING BONE MARROW DONOR DRIVES AND DOES SO BY FUNDING AND PROVIDING GRANTS AND HONORARIUMS TO INDIVIDUAL RESEARCHERS AT MEDICAL INSTITUTIONS. IN ADDITION, THE FOUNDATION UNDERWRITES LECTURES RELATING TO WORK BEING PERFORMED IN THESE AREAS.

THE MISSION OF GRASSROOTS ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION IS TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE LINKS BETWEEN COMMON ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES AND HUMAN HEALTH.
