SAMARITAN'S PURSE IS A NONDENOMINATIONAL EVANGELICAL CHRISTIAN ORGANIZATION PROVIDING SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL AID TO HURTING PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD WITH THE PURPOSE OF SHARING GOD'S LOVE THROUGH HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST.

MISSION:

THROUGH IMPACTFUL AND ENGAGED STEWARDSHIP, FUNDRAISING, FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, AND THOUGHTFUL BOARD LEADERSHIP, THE APPALACHIAN STATE UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION WILL PROVIDE SIGNIFICANT RESOURCES IN SUPPORT OF THE UNIVERSITY'S MISSION AND KEY PRIORITIES.

MISSION:

PROVIDE AND SUPERVISE RESIDENTIAL HOUSING FACILITIES FOR A PORTION OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS AND EMPLOYEES OF APPALACHIAN STATE UNIVERSITY IN BOONE, NORTH CAROLINA.

MISSION:

TO PROVIDE, COORDINATE, AND SUPPORT THE DELIVERY OF HEALTHCARE AND HEALTHCARE-RELATED SERVICES.

MISSION:

The goal of this organization is to build, rehabilitate, manage and/or provide rental housing for low-income individuals and families, older adults and people with disabilities; or which make purchasable housing available to low or moderate income families by offering lower priced housing and/or affordable payment plans, by arranging for interest or mortgage subsidies or by involving eventual owners in the construction process (sweat equity).

MISSION:

WORK WITH APPALACHIAN REGIONAL HEALTHCARE SYSTEM (ARHS) TO SUPPORT HEALTHCARE IN THE SURROUNDING REGION OF WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA. OUR MISSION WILL BE ACHIEVED BY 1) EXPANDING AND PRESERVING ESSENTIAL PATIENT SERVICES THROUGH PHILANTHROPY; 2) EQUIPPING CAREGIVERS WITH UNIQUE RESOURCES AND LEADING EDGE TECHNOLOGIES; 3) HELPING CREATE A HEALTHIER COMMUNITY FOR THE COUNTIES WE SERVE; AND 4) COOPERATING WITH OTHER COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS WHO SHARE THE ARHS MISSION.

MISSION:

The goal of this organization is to preserve and protect endangered land resources from indiscriminate development, destruction or decay and which manage the utilization of renewable and nonrenewable resources to ensure ongoing availability. Included are conservation of the nations forests, rangeland, vegetation, deserts, wild and scenic rivers and other wilderness areas and open land spaces; and reestablishment of areas that have been devastated by destructive activities such as strip mining or other destructive activities.

MISSION:

THIS ORGANIZATION PROVIDES HEALTH CARE TO INDIVIDUALS REGARDLESS OF THEIR ABILITY TO PAY. THIS IS A DIRECT FULFILLMENT OF THEIR TAX EXEMPT PURPOSE.

MISSION:

APPALACHIAN REGIONAL MEDICAL ASSOCIATES (ARMA) IS A HOSPITAL-OWNED PRACTICE MANAGEMENT COMPANY.

MISSION:

OUR MISSION IS TO PROVIDE A QUALITY VENUE FOR A VARIETY OF ARTISTIC GENRES; TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE REGION BY PROMOTING AND STRENGTHENING THE AREA'S UNIQUE CULTURAL IDENTITY AND CREATIVE HISTORY; TO ENHANCE BUSINESS IN BOONE AND OUR REGION; TO PROVIDE A CULTURAL HUB; AND TO FIND NEW LIFE FOR A HISTORIC BUILDING WHILE MAINTAINING FINANCIAL SUSTAINABILITY. THE THEATER OPENED IN 1938 AND CLOSED IN 2007, BUT WAS RESTORED, RENOVATED AND REOPENED IN OCTOBER 2019.

The goal of this organization are the nongovernmental, nonprofit organizations with funds (usually from a single source, such as an individual, family or corporation) and programs managed by its own trustees or directors, established to maintain or aid social, educational, religious or other charitable activities serving the common welfare, primarily through grantmaking.

The goal of this organization is to provide paid employment opportunities in a controlled, protected environment for people with disabilities who are unable to obtain competitive employment. Also included are work activity centers which provide personal and social development opportunities for participants who have demonstrated inconsequential production capacity.

The goal of this organization is to provide a wide variety of informational, social and supportive services for children and youth including runaways and other troubled youth.

THE PURPOSE OF THE WATAUGA HUMANE SOCIETY IS TO PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING: A WELL-EQUIPPED AND APPROPRIATELY STAFFED FACILITY WHERE THE CITIZENS OF WATAUGA COUNTY CAN BRING UNWANTED OR ABANDONED ANIMALS; RELIEF OF SUFFERING AMONG ANIMALS; PROVISIONS OF FOOD, SHELTER, MEDICAL CARE AND LOVE TO HOMELESS ANIMALS WHILE THEY AWAIT PERMANENT HOMES; ASSISTANCE WITH CONTROL OF UNWANTED ANIMALS BY OFFERING LOW-COST SPAY/NEUTER SERVICES; EDUCATION TO THE PUBLIC ABOUT RESPONSIBLE ANIMAL OWNERSHIP AND CARE.
