Private foundations are considered family foundations if relatives or the original donor are still active on the board of trustees or in the operation of the foundation.

TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO ITS TAX-EXEMPT PARENT, LUMINIS HEALTH DOCTORS COMMUNITY MEDICAL CENTER, INC. IN SUPPORT FOR THE HOSPITAL'S TAX-EXEMPT PURPOSE. LUMINIS HEALTH DOCTORS COMMUNITY MEDICAL CENTER FOUNDATION, INC. IS A TYPE 1 SUPPORTING ORGANIZATION UNDER SECTION 509(A)(3) FOR THE HOSPITAL.

THE NAVAL ACADEMY AQUATIC CLUB IS A COMPETITIVE ORGANIZATION THAT INSPIRES AND EMPOWERS ATHLETES TO ACHIEVE EXCELLENCE IN SWIMMING, WATER POLO, AND IN LIFE.

TO ENHANCE AACPL SERVICES TO THE COMMUNITY BY SECURING RESOURCES TO SUPPORT LIBRARY PROGRAMS NOT NORMALLY MET BY PUBLIC FUNDING.

MARCH ON FOUNDATION EXISTS TO INCREASE CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, CHAMPION FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS, AND AMPLIFY THE VOICES OF THE UNDERREPRESENTED, MARGINALIZED, AND OPPRESSED IN ORDER TO EMPOWER AND SUPPORT OUR COMMUNITIES.

TO HELP THE MARYLAND STATE ARCHIVES ACQUIRE, PRESERVE, AND MAKE RECORDS AND ARTISTIC PROPERTY RELATED TO THE HISTORY OF MARYLAND ACCESSIBLE.

WE WORK WITH FAMILIES IN VIVI MICHELLE TO BREAK THE CYCLE OF POVERTY THROUGH QUALITY EDUCATION. WE TAKE A HOLISTIC APPROACH TO MAKE SURE THEIR EMOTIONAL, PHYSICAL & NUTRITIONAL NEEDS ARE MET IN ORDER FOR THEM TO ACADEMICALLY FLOURISH. QUALITY EDUCATION IS NOT POSSIBLE UNLESS EVERY CHILD HAS THE RESOURCES & SUPPORT THEY NEED TO SUCCEED. THIS IS WHY WE WORK WITH FAMILIES, LOCAL COMMUNITY & SOCIAL WORKERS TO ENSURE THEIR EDUCATIONAL SUCCESS.
