IT IS THE MISSION OF RURAL DEVELOPMENT, INC. (RDI) TO ADVANCE THE RIGHT OF ALL PEOPLE IN FRANKLIN COUNTY AND THE NORTH QUABBIN REGION TO OCCUPY ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE, ENERGY EFFICIENT, AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND TO IMPROVE ECONOMIC INDEPENDENCE. RDI STRIVES TO PROMOTE ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS AND TO OPERATE IN A MANNER THAT IS RESPECTFUL OF THE RURAL CHARACTER OF OUR REGION.

TO PROVIDE LIFE SKILLS EDUCATION, IN AN INDEPENDENT LIVING ENVIROMENT FOR ADOLESCENTS INVOLVED WITH DDS AND OTHER LOCAL AND STATE AGENCIES. ALSO TO PROVIDE DROP IN SERVICES, COUNSELING AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES TO OWN, REHABILITATE AND LEASE AFFORDABLE HOUSING WITH THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF EDUCATING, TEACHING, TRAINING AND INCULCATING IN MEN WITH SPECIAL HOUSING NEEDS PARTICULARY WITH SUBSTANCE USE AND ADDICTION NEEDS WITH THE LIFE SKILLS REQUIRED FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING IN THE COMMUNITY.

THE FRIENDS OF THE FRANKLIN COUNTY REGIONAL DOG SHELTER, A NON- PROFIT CORPORATION GOVERNED BY THE LAWS OF MASSACHUSETTS, WAS ESTABLISHED TO SUPPORT THE OPERATION OF THE FRANKLIN COUNTY REGIONAL DOG SHELTER AND ADOPTION CENTER. THE FRIENDS BELIEVE THAT ALL DOGS ARE ENTITLED TO A LIFE FREE OF UNNECESSARY PAIN AND SUFFERING IN A HOME WITH A RESPONSIBLE GUARDIAN. WE HOLD, THEREFORE, THAT IT IS OUR MORAL RESPONSIBILITY TO PROTECT AND IMPROVE THE LIVES OF FRANKLIN COUNTY'S ABUSED, ABANDONED AND HOMELESS DOGS AND TO ARRANGE FOR THEIR ADOPTION INTO LOVING, PERMANENT HOMES.
