MISSION:

The goal of this organization is to make grants for charitable purposes in a specific community or region. The funds available to a community foundation are usually derived from many donors and held in an endowment that is independently administered; income earned by the endowment is then used to make grants.

UNITED WAY OF CENTRAL ALABAMA'S MISSION IS TO INCREASE THE ORGANIZED CAPACITY OF PEOPLE TO CARE FOR ONE ANOTHER AND TO IMPROVE THEIR COMMUNITY. WE ARE ACTIVELY ENGAGED IN BLOUNT, CHILTON, JEFFERSON, SHELBY, ST. CLAIR AND WALKER COUNTIES TO CREATE COMMUNITY-BASED SOLUTIONS THAT STRENGTHEN QUALITY OF LIFE. MISSION:

The goal of this organization are the residential facilities for older adults who are unable to function in an independent living environment because they need assistance with toileting, bathing, dressing, medication, meals and housekeeping and other activities of daily living, but do not require nursing care on a regular basis.
