THE PROGRAM FOSTERS INDEPENDENT SKILL-BUILDING THAT WILL ENABLE A YOUTH TO ACHIEVE A PRODUCTIVE MOVE INTO THE COMMMUNITY. IN 1983, THE CONTINUALLY EVOLVING NEW CONNECTIONS PROGRAM DEVELOPED. THIS PROGRAM, STAFFED WITH COUNSELORS AND FULL-TIME TEACHER, HELPS SCHOOL DROP-OUT AND OTHERS FAILING TO THRIVE INDEPENDENTLY ON THE STREETS OF CHARLESTON.
