THE LOCATION OF OUTREACH IS BETWEEN TWO OF THESE GANGS AND THE ORGANIZATION'S AIM IS TO ENTICE AT-RISK YOUTH AWAY FROM GANG ACTIVITY, PROVIDE POSITIVE, PRODUCTIVE, AND CONSTRUCTIVE PROGRAMS TO THIS COMMUNITY WHILE IMPROVING THEIR EDUCATIONAL PERFORMANCES. SINCE LOT318'S INVOLVEMENT, GANG ACTIVITY HAS DECREASED AND SHIFTED AWAY FROM THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND MANY OF LOT318'S STUDENTS ARE NOW EXCELLING IN SCHOOL AS WELL AS INDIVIDUALLY IN ADDITION, THE FOUNDING GEOGRAPHICAL LOCATION OF LOT318 WAS STRATEGICALLY PLANNED. LOT318 IS SURROUNDED BY APPROXIMATELY 5,000 HOMES AND APARTMENTS. THE LA JOLLA COMMUNITY IN PLACENTIA IS KNOWN AS A "DESERT COMMUNITY" AS THEY HAVE LIMITED ACCESS TO LARGER PARTS OF THE CITY, SUCH AS GROCERY STORES, GAS STATIONS, AND OTHER RESOURCES. THIS IS DUE TO LACK OF CITY TRANSPORTATION, ACCESS TO RECREATIONAL AREAS
