ACTIVITIES INCLUDE HAWAIIAN OUTRIGGER CANOE HISTORY, NOMENCLATURE, CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES, SAFE USAGE, AND WEEKDAY PRACTICE SESSIONS FOR APPROXIMATELY 100 MEMBERS. INSTRUCTION IS PROVIDED BY VOLUNTEERS FROM THE MEMBERSHIP
THE CLUB PROVIDES HAWAIIAN CULTURAL WORKSHOPS ON ANCIENT RELATIONSHIPS WITH THE SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL WORLD SHOWING THE CANOE AS ESSENTIAL IN ANCIENT TIMES. HAWAIIAN ELDERS WITHIN THE MEMBERSHIP ACT AS WORKSHOP LEADERS.
MEMBERS OF THE CLUB PARTICIPATE IN WEEKEND COMPETITIONS WITH OTHER CANOE CLUBS. THIS ALLOWS MEMBERS TO REFINE SKILLS AND BOND AS A TEAM. THE EXPENSES SHOWN PRIMARILY RELATE TO RACING FEES.
